My dear readers, apa khabar? :)

I am a Malaysian and I hail from the most southern state of the peninsular Malaysia which houses the border between Malaysia and Singapore.

In fact, I live a good 15-20 minutes away from the Woodlands and Tuas exit (Singapore customs). 

The city that I'm currently residing in is Johor Bahru, which is the capital district of Johor state. 

How about you? Where do you live and which city are you from? :)

Coming to my point, this lesson will be on "My City" also known as "Bandar saya" in Malay.

So, what do you have in a city?



1. City - Bandar
    - I like the city of Barcelona a lot. - Saya sangat suka bandar Barcelona.

2. Supermarket - Pasaraya
    - Where is the supermarket? - Di manakah pasaraya?

3. Pharmacy - Farmasi (Same pronunciation as in English)
    - There is a pharmacy near here. - Terdapat satu farmasi yang berdekatan sini.

4. Bank - Bank
    - Where is the bank? - Di manakah bank?

5. Train station - Stesen kereta api
    - The train station is far from here. - Stesen kereta api terletak jauh dari sini.

6. Bus stop - Perhentian bas
    - I'm looking for the bus stop. - Saya sedang mencari perhentian bas.

7. Museum - Muzium
    - There is a museum there. - Terdapat satu muzium di sana.

8. Cinema - Pawagam / Panggung wayang
    - I live near a cinema. - Saya tinggal berhampiran satu pawagam.

9. Theatre - Panggung
    - In my city, there are three theatres. - Dalam bandar saya, terdapat tiga panggung.

  • Far - Jauh
  • Where - Di manakah / Mana
  • Like - Suka
  • A lot / Very much - Sangat
  • Near / Nearby- Berdekatan / Dekat / Berhampiran / Hampir
